FILTERS WITH SPARK STUDIO
With this assignment I really didn't know what i was doing. I made some simple drawings and used a couple of paintings I already had laying around. Figuring out how the program worked took some time but eventually i got it and had so much fun with it.

I wish I had done a bit more experimenting tho. Maybe with a couple more abstract artworks
I also figured out that you can upload your own filters
on instagram, so i made this filter with the same program,

It's a famous saying about the cheapest beer brand
we have in the Netherlands.
Literally translated it says; A man of culture drinks his
klok (beer brand) on room temperature.
PAINTING BASED ON COLLAGE
I Really like painting so I had fun doing this assignment, I choose to make a collage with some pictures i had used the week before (all about protesting) and a couple of new pictures on protesting.
The first version of my collage had a very busy background, so i made a second version where I pixelated the background. Once I painted that version I decided to add some plants for some extra contrast in color and shapes.
I tried to use a bit of a less detailed painting style then I normally use.
I do like part of the end product, especially the pixelated background and my use of colours. but I wish had made the people more detailed. I also really need to learn how to paint darker shades of skintones
PAINTING OVER NEWSFOTO'S
My printer died in the middle of the assignment so i had to use pictures from the newspaper. I decided to go with pictures mostly about climate protests, which is a subject that I find really important.

I had a hard time coming up with stuff to paint on top of these pictures, thats why I didn't really think about giving the pictures an extra meaning when I painted them. I wish I had, because some of the paintings don't make any sense now.

PAINTING OVER MY OWN PICTURES
I found this assignment really hard, because I really didn't know what to paint. In the beginning I was really focused on painting actual stuff, and nothing abstract. But in the end I like my abstract pieces the most.

I especially like the ones where I really experimented with the way of applying the paint, for example, on one of them I used a ruler to spread out the paint. And on an other one I tried scraping away some of the paint.

I do think I could've experimented more, because on most of the paintings i just painted some blocked out parts.

I absolutely hate this last piece, in my head this was a really funny idea, but i hate how i painted the prisoners. If I had taken more time and did a bit more my best it could've been a lot better. I do like the texture of the watered down red paint to represent lights.
PAINTING FILTERS OVER A PICTURE
I used this picture as my refrence. The first filter
I added was a black and white filter, then I made that
picture pixelated.

After that I decided to add a 3D effect on top of the black
and white picture. In the end it doesn't look 3D but I do still
think it turned out pretty interesting.

I thought it wasn't really interesting that I only used
black and white so the last painting I made was
an over-saturated version of the original picture.
I think I should've chosen a bit simpeler picture,
because every version took me quite a long time to paint.
Thats also why I sadly didn't have time to try more
coloured versions.
